Portrait

Fransisko keeps two disciplines in the same pair of hands.

On weekdays he works with numbers at Bank Rakyat Indonesia, where accuracy is not a preference but a requirement. On weekends he stands in front of a choir, where that same attention turns into something else entirely — phrasing, breath, the shape of a crescendo.

He has never treated these as separate lives. Both ask for preparation. Both are unforgiving of shortcuts. Both are, in the end, about serving something larger than the person doing the work.

The Ledger

A statement either balances or it does not.

He read accounting at Universitas Sam Ratulangi in Manado, and now works at BRI — one of Indonesia’s largest state-owned banks.

There is no interpretation to hide behind here, and no audience to charm. The work rewards patience and a tolerance for detail that most people run out of. It is quiet, and it suits him.

Interlude

Interlude — The Podium

To God be the glory
through every gift and calling.

Conducting a worship service. The passage on the screen behind the choir is Isaiah 41:10.

III

The Stage

He has taken both the podium and the risers at international choir competitions.

Sometimes conducting, sometimes singing in the ranks, sometimes accompanying from an instrument — three different jobs that all come down to listening harder than anyone else in the room.
